As the subject property was a Victorian house clearly in need of external repairs, I
wanted to employ a "professional nitpicker" who would identify all the issues so
that I could budget accordingly. After receiving quotes from several surveyors, I
chose this company based on the Google reviews and the initial call with Georgina.
The RICS register shows that Laurence qualified several decades ago, and his
experience really shows in the quality of the work delivered.
I usually tend to find RICS survey reports to be missing the "so what?" Whereas this
report is written from the perspective of a home buyer; I found it to be informative
and useful. Laurence pays great attention to detail. I also had a follow up call with
Laurence where he very clearly explained to me the implications of each of the
identified issues. In addition to surveying the house, Laurence has done extensive
desk-based research on the neighbouring houses, with the findings included in the
report. Additionally, Laurence helpfully pointed out a comparable house that I can
use as a blueprint for future work. I highly recommend the services of Broomfield

Thank you for the valuation report, I have read it through several times and I am very
pleased with it. There were a few items mentioned in the report which I hadn’t
spotted and, in this respect, very helpful. What is also interesting is the difference in
price for the properties that have utilised the roof space for a third bedroom without

surveyor went above and beyond what most surveyors normally do, well worth the extra cost - would
not hesitate to use your company again. I had a survey carried out a month ago on a previous

My wife and I were extremely happy with the private purchase survey which Laurence completed for
us. As anyone who has looked into obtaining a building survey quotation will know, it is very difficult
to choose between the various surveyors. However, for me, being able to speak to Laurence's very
pleasant partner, Georgina (who also happens to be his wife), who talked me through the different
aspects of the survey, really helped with my choosing Broomfield Surveyors to carry out the
survey. Laurence spent c.3 hours at the property (and many more putting together the report) which
gave him enough time to carry out a very detailed and comprehensive survey of the property. He
then following up with a phone call shortly after the survey to update me on the key findings and the
full report with photographs followed a couple of days later. We then had another call with Laurence
and Georgina to go through any further questions we had which really helped provide the full

Promptness of response : The supplier responded within 2-3 days which I
consider to be reasonably quick. They were not the first to contact me - in fact, as
many competitors had instant automatic email replies set on, they were one of the
last to get in touch - but luckily I spent a few days before coming to a final decision,
and their personalised email (not an automated reply) actually made them stand out.
Value for money : Although they are not the cheapest supplier on the market, I
believe that they offer a high quality service and therefore are of good value.

Promptness of response : Laurence rang me within 30 minutes of my afternoon
enquiry and was the only respondent that actually sounded human and knew what
he was doing. He didn't hard sell me but got me talking about the what, where, when,
why, how and who's of my decision to move house. The list provided by yourselves
indicated that his fees were one of the highest for a Survey Service but after talking
to him I felt he was right for the job. By the evening I had his quote, a summary of his
experience with similar properties, copies of survey reports to illustrate his depth of
investigation and access to a feedback blog from clients. I instructed him the
following morning surprisingly at a competitive cost lower than I had expected. Over
the next couple of days I received responses from the others on your list and had to
tell each of them that they had been too slow to respond. I am still receiving
telephone answering messages from surveyors hoping for the business. Laurence
has since conducted the survey, presented his written report and I am now
considering my next approach with the vendor. I would not hesitate to recommend

The website operated satisfactorily it gave me a range of surveyors and prices. I placed an

very shortly after my initial enquiry. The work was done the day after I requested and I was

The web site worked well and I placed an order with Broomfield Surveyors.The work was
carried out to my satisfaction, they even took the time to talk me through the report at length
on a Saturday morning with the option of calling back with any outstanding questions on the
Saturday evening and Sunday which I felt was above and beyond. The turnaround of the
report was also very pleasing - conducted and report received the day after instruction.

I found the website very useful as I am currently in the process of buying
my first house so trying to make sense of surveys and local surveyors was a
bit daunting. After I used your website I was contacted by a number of the
surveyors who were able to explain things to me. As a result I went with

a serious understatement - the vendors estate agent for the property I was buying actually

"Dealing with Broomfield Surveyors was an absolute pleasure. The Abrahams are very
responsive and I got some sound advice about the type of survey that would be best suited to
my prospective property. Laurence was able to survey the property promptly and called me
